What is the basic structure of the camp?
- Currently the camp accommodates 60 campers per week, in two one-week sessions.
- 4 Barracks with 2 cabins per barrack
- Each cabin has
- 7 campers
- one counselor
- one counselor in training
- Most activities are done with your barrack, 2 barracks at a time. We rotate the barracks for each activity so that all the girls get to interact with everybody. For meals, the girls sit in their cabin groups.
- Each cabin has girls from all age groups; in this way older girls can assist younger ones and the younger girls can transmit their enthusiasm to the older ones. Last year, during week 2, one barrack was designated for only 13 and 14 year old girls. These girls participated in some more challenging activities as well as some leadership formation.
- All cabins take turn each day in helping out either with setting up and cleaning the dining room for each meal or in bathroom cleaning duty. Each cabin gets at least one turn at each of these jobs during the week
