The Leadership Program
Chilawee Trails camp offers an exciting, challenging and informative three-tier leadership-training program for girls aged 15 and up.
Phase one
All potential new staff are required to participate in the first phase of this program which is offered in: Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, London, Kingston, Quebec City and Vancouver.
The course covers topics such as:
- competitive and non-competitive games & ice-breakers;
- personality assessment;
- qualities of a good leader;
- explanation of the Holy Mass;
- team work;
- handling challenging situations;
- giving talks
This course would be a benefit for all girls whether or not they plan to work at Chilawee Trails camp.
Phase Two
Some of our returning staff participates at the OCA workshops.
Phase Three
The third phase of the program takes pace immediately prior to camp. All hired staff are expected to arrive a couple of days in advance of campers in order to learn specific job related skills and to get to know one another and the camp site. The dates are in the Staff Application.
