Job Descriptions

*Numbers indicate number of staff required per week

Nurse (1)

  • Keeps track of all medical forms and medication of campers and staff.
  • Informs counsellors of particular medical needs of any of their campers.
  • Must be available at all times to administer first aid or any medical attention that does not require a physician.
  • Inspects cabins and bathrooms daily for cleanliness.
  • Identifies health and safety issues

The camp has an equipped nurse's cabin and sick room.

Head Cook (1)

  • Determines menu (Previous year's menu and grocery list will be available).
  • Purchases all food.
  • Oversees food preparation and serving of food.
  • Ensures that kitchen is always clean and meets safety and health standards.

Kitchen Help (4)

  • Help Cook in all food preparation (two assistants on duty at a time).
  • Help with dishes after meals

Sports & Game Director (1) & Assistant (1)

  • Plan and supervise all sports (mornings) and games (evenings) and campfire activities.
  • Prepare campfire (collect wood, fill water buckets, etc.).

Craft Director (1) & Assistant(1)

  • Prepare crafts and purchase all craft materials before the camp.
  • Set up before each craft session.
  • Supervise craft sessions and cleanup after the sessions.
  • Prepare and supervise craft activities for rainy day.

There will be 2 craft sessions on each of 3 afternoons. Half of the campers and staff will attend each session (30 people per session).

Lifeguard (1) & Assistant(1)

  • Be on duty for all waterfront activities.
  • NLS is required.

Canoe Instructor (1) / Secretary & Assistant (1)

  • Instruct beginner canoers and supervise experienced ones (30 people per group)
  • Assist with odd office work in the afternoons

Counsellors (8)

  • Supervise a group of 6 campers at all times except during scheduled free time.
  • Responsible for cabin cleanup at end of camp.

CIT (Counsellors in Training) (8)

  • Assist counsellors in camper supervision except during scheduled free time.

Detailed instruction booklet will be provided for all staff upon confirmation of employment. CPR is recommended for all employees.
